IAEA National Workshop in Cairo, Egypt

Mr. Ken Aupperle is a Senior Vice President with High Bridge Associates with over 40 years of project management experience supporting commercial nuclear power and large government scientific programs. He provides support to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The IAEA is a United Nations affiliate organization responsible for promoting global guidelines and standards for the peaceful use of commercial nuclear energy. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Project Management/Controls, Planning, and Integration for IAEA Technical Cooperation Planning/Training Missions with IAEA Member Nations, he has had assignments in Egypt, Kuwait, and Vienna. He recently completed an assignment as part of an IAEA Expert Team conducting a national workshop in Cairo, Egypt to provide assistance and guidance to the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA) and other organizations involved in Egypt’s nuclear power infrastructure development program. The mission was to help them establish integrated management systems that support and promote a strong safety and security culture. To this end, the expert mission was designed to share information, experience, and best practices on the implementation of management systems and the management of nuclear power plant projects by owner/operators and regulatory bodies in other Member States.
